Welcome to the second BerkoFest Book Festival. Similar to our successful annual BerkoFest Music Festival, BerkoFest Book Festival has become a quirky, fun, family-friendly event, and will, again, this year have a mixture of internationally acclaimed and local authors.
There will be two sites for the main event on Sunday May 10th – Berkhamsted Town Hall and the Rectory Lane Cemetery. The former offers great charm with its Victorian architecture and modern accessibility and is situated on the High Street, in the middle of Berkhamsted. The Town Hall will accommodate two separate venues - Great Hall Room and Clock Room.
The second site, Rectory Lane Cemetery is a very pleasant, quiet, green space offering a naturally beautiful ambience, and is found just off the High Street, 600 metres away from the Town Hall. This year the Rectory Lane Cemetery sessions will have children’s authors only, thus becoming a family friendly event.
On Sunday 10th May there will be author talks, readings, Q&A sessions, panels and book signings, also interactive storytelling and a wide range of workshops. Additionally there will be an antiquarian book stall with our very own style of “antiques roadshow” where you are invited to bring your own second-hand books to be valued.
Delighted to announce NEW to this year’s book festival: Saturday May 9th, 2pm – 7pm, a cricket match will be held between a BerkoFest xi and an Authors xi . The game will be held at Berkhamsted Cricket Club and followed from 8pm by a Q&A panel with the authors who participated in the match.
BerkoFest Book Festival: inspirational, educational and fun.
Come and enjoy a great couple days with us!
